A material-handling distributor wants to sell 48V lithium forklift packs under its own name to rental fleets and dealers. The sales team asks which parts of the pack and which documents can carry the distributor’s brand, and what the end customer will still see from the factory.
Most of what the customer sees can carry your brand: the logo on the battery shell, the rating label, the display start screen where one is fitted, the user manual and the packing. What should stay traceable to the factory are the serial numbers, cell and BMS records and the test data behind your reports. Agree each branded item in writing, approve a physical sample, and keep one controlled file per model.
What can usually be branded
- Shell and label. Redway’s OEM/ODM page says it can print your logo or brand name on the battery body. The rating label (voltage, capacity, energy, weight, warnings) should carry your name but keep the technical values exactly as tested.
- Display and app. Packs such as the 48V 600Ah model list an on-shell LCD and 4G cloud monitoring. Ask whether the start screen or app view can show your brand, and who maintains it.
- Manual and quick guide. Supply your artwork and safety text, but let the factory confirm every number and charging instruction.
- Packing and labels. Cartons, crates and shipping marks can carry your name, provided the dangerous-goods marks stay correct.
- Reports. Redway’s packs are designed and tested to UL-related standards; the test report is typically issued in the customer’s name, and the scope is confirmed at quotation. Ask for a report under your own company name.
What stays with the factory
Serial numbering, cell lot records, BMS firmware version and outgoing test records should stay in the factory’s system and be linked to your model code. If a fleet raises a claim, these records are what you will need. Our traceability article lists the questions to ask.
How to set it up
Create a brand sheet per model: logo files, label layout, colours, manual text and packing marks, each with a revision number. OEM custom orders have no MOQ by default (1 piece), although some specific products carry a 10-piece minimum, so confirm for your model. Approve a first-article sample before series production. Redway’s forklift specification tables show 5 years, which is the design life of the pack; the after-sales technical support period is 3 years.
Questions to ask before you sign
Ask which branded items need new tooling or artwork approval, how long each adds to lead time, and who owns the artwork files. Ask how a label change is controlled once production has started, and whether old labels are destroyed. Clear answers here prevent mixed label versions in the same shipment.
Risk limits
Do not change rated values, warnings or certification marks to suit marketing. A label that does not match the test report can cause problems at customs and with insurers. This article is general guidance; confirm branding options for your model with Redway.
Additional perspectives
Keep one brand sheet per model with a revision number, and never let a dealer print its own labels. If two label versions exist in the field, support and recalls become harder.
Redway Tech Editorial Team – Product manager perspective
Check that the name on the label, the manual and the test report is the same legal entity. A brand name without a matching company on the report can raise questions from customs or a fleet customer’s safety team.
Redway Tech Editorial Team – Compliance perspective
Tell fleet buyers plainly that the pack is built by a partner factory to your specification. Buyers in this segment expect it, and openness about the supply chain usually builds more trust than it costs.
Redway Tech Editorial Team – Sales director perspective
Specifications are taken from Redway product pages as of October 2026. Where a figure isn’t published, this article says so. Confirm current specifications for your model with Redway before ordering. This article is general guidance, not a site-specific engineering assessment.
