Charging behaviour decides whether a light-EV pack lasts three years or eight.
Charging: rate, cut-off and storage
Charge to 80–90% for daily use, 100% only before a long ride, and never leave the pack flat for months.

Installation & charging questions
The questions that come before an order.
How should I charge an eBike battery day to day?
To 80–90% for normal use and 100% only before a long ride. Leaving a lithium pack at 100% in a hot shed is what shortens its life.
Can I leave the battery on the charger?
A good charger terminates, so a few hours is fine. Days on end is not — and never charge a cold pack straight from a freezing ride.
How do I store the battery for winter?
Charge to roughly half, keep it indoors, and top it up every couple of months. A pack stored flat may not recover.
What causes eBike battery fires?
Damaged cells, the wrong charger and water ingress. Correct fusing, a matched charger and a protected mounting point address all three.
When should I replace the battery?
When the range drops below what you need, or immediately if the case swells. Cell-level replacement is often possible — ask before buying a whole new pack.
