Match the truck before the brand
Three measurements decide everything.
Measure the bay (length, width, height), note the connector type and cable exit, and confirm the truck’s voltage and controller. Trucks that pass those three checks accept a lithium pack without modification; the rest need a bracket, a spacer or a different terminal arrangement.

Can I put a lithium battery in my Toyota forklift?
On most Toyota counterbalance trucks yes, provided the bay dimensions, connector and voltage match and the truck is re-rated for the lighter pack. Send the data plate and a bay photo and we confirm the fitment in writing.
Do Hyster and Yale trucks use the same battery bay?
They are sister brands and share many chassis, but bay height and connector differ by series. Check the series code rather than the brand name.
What do I measure before ordering a replacement pack?
Bay length, width and height, the connector type and cable exit, the truck voltage, and the weight the counterweight assumes. Those four decide whether the pack is a drop-in.
Will a lighter lithium pack affect lifting capacity?
It increases payload on most trucks because the counterweight was sized for a heavier lead-acid block. On models where the battery is part of the counterweight, a ballast or a re-rating is needed.
Do I need a new charger when switching brands?
You need a lithium-profile charger matched to the pack voltage and BMS protocol. The truck brand does not decide the charger; the pack specification does.
